Family History Genies was set up in 2015 by two librarians from Christchurch, New Zealand with a shared passion for genealogy. Their services include genealogy research, tutoring, courses, presentations and producing family tree charts.
Julie Paterson MIS (Masters in Information Studies), BA, DipTchg
Julie works as an Information Librarian, supporting people with their research. Her job requires patience, persistence, good search techniques and familiarity with resources. She enjoys helping people clarify their research needs and connecting them with the information they require. Before training as a librarian, Julie was a teacher and co-ran a small business. Her love of genealogy started in childhood. Through her personal and professional interests she has acquired a great deal of knowledge about family history, particularly around NZ resources. Julie is a member of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists (NZSG).
